    This is Mr. O'Briens fifth year as Principal of Torrance High School. Mr. O'Brien has worked for the Torrance School District for 33 years. He has been an English and Social Science teacher at Jefferson Middle School, South, Shery and North High School. In 1982 he became the Activities Director at Torrance High School and in 1984 he became an assistant principal at THS. In 1987 he was assigned as an assistant principal at North High and in 1993 he was promoted to the position of principal at Kurt T. Shery High School. After three years as the Continuation School principal Mr. O'Brien became principal of South High School.     Mr. O'Brien received an BA degree from Georgetown University, his teaching credential from Loyola Marymount University and his MS degree in School Administration from Pepperdine University. He also has his CLAD certification. He is a member of the Association of Torrance School Administrators, the Association of California School Administrators as well the National Association of Secondary School Principals.     Mr. O'Brien has been a resident of Torrance since 1983 and all his children attended Torrance Schools. It is a real honor and privilege for Mr. O'Brien to be here at Tartarville and he enjoys working with all our terrific students, faculty, staff and community.
