will be playing in the South Bay Senior
Soccer All Star games at El Camino College
Friday night. The girls' game which
features all star seniors from the Ocean,
Pioneer and Bay Leagues will start at 5
pm. The boys' game will follow at 7 pm.
Tickets are $3. Come support our seniors
and catch some great high school
soccer.

who are California residents and have
financial need should apply for the Durfee
Family Scholarship. Applications can be
obtained in the counseling office and are
due by May 1st.

"Mid-year Reports" For Private Schools:
Please make sure that your counselor has
received the necessary forms. Transcripts
are available for schools requesting "7th
semester grades". Seniors may hear from
Cal States and some UC's wanting grades
from the first semester of their senior
year. You should only send the transcript
in response to a request from the college
or university

Senior Athletes:
Checking out of your sport? Your counselor
will need a note from your parent and your
coach. The counselor will check to see
that you can graduate without the credits
and then drop you. You are not
automatically dropped from your sport and
you will be marked absent until you are
dropped!

are planning to attend a four year college
and you received a grade lower than a C in
an academic class, you must notify the
college(s) and let them know-in writing.
Failure to do this could negatively impact
your admission to the school.

Scholarships:

The Young Ambassadors
Program is looking for 24 high school
graduating seniors, Latino/a with an
interest and commitment to disciplines in
the arts, sciences, or humanities. The
selected students will travel to D.C. for
the training and leadership seminar @ the
Smithsonian Institution. Upon completion
of the 5 week program, students will
receive a $2,000 stipend. DEADLINE: 4/7/10

office.

A Summer Fellowship
Program is available for seniors (Class of
2010) in the biomedical field. If you are
selected, you would be working in
biomedical research laboratories,
assisting with research in areas such as:
biochemistry, cancer, cardiovascular,
computers in biomed science to mention a
few. The dates of the fellowship
(internship) are 6/21-8/13 and there is a
stipend for it. The deadline to apply is
