It's not too late to pick up a summer/fall SCROC application in the counseling office. SCROC classes will not only teach you valuable skills that will help you in your future, but will earn you high school elective credits as well. There are also some UC approved courses. These include: American Sign Language, Veterinary Science, Principles of Engineering, and Broadcast Journalism. Classes are free and transportation is provided.

Any student planning on not attending Torrance HS next year because of a move or a change, please go to the counseling office for important information and paperwork that must be completed before finals.

Did you forget to turn in your summer school application (yellow) to the principal's office? Run, don't walk immediately to the principal's office with your application. Summer School begins Wed., June 25 and ends Fri., August 1.

Summer School - If you turned in an application already please be ready to attend school on Wed., 6/25. Report approximately 15 minutes before class begins to the front of the auditorium. Program cards with room number will be issued at that time. No notice will be mailed home. Contact the principal's office if you have any questions.

All of your textbooks should be returned to the library by the end of school TODAY, Fri., June 13 th. Your final clearance is Monday!

Any senior wishing to attend Grad Nite can buy their ticket at the door for $120.00. Anyone still owing money can pay their remaining balance also at the door. Remember to bring your student ID. The party starts at 9pm and ends at 5am.

Senior breakfast/brunch on Fri., 6/13. All Seniors NOT ELIGIBLE to attend breakfast/brunch at Wilson Park report to the Little Theatre immediately after baccalaureate practice. You must sign in with Mr. Tokubo. Check the list posted in English 4 and Econ/Govt classes.

Seniors, stop by the Activities office at snack and lunch this week to check the yearbook list. Make sure you are on the list if you have purchased a yearbook. Any problems, see Mr. Spotts.

Seniors- If you do not pick up your diploma from your counselor on Friday, June 20, you may pick up your diploma from Mrs. Trutanic in Student Services from June 23 to July 3 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon only. You must bring an ID to claim your diploma.

Each senior will receive 8 tickets for graduation. If your family will need more than that you will have to negotiate with friends for extra tickets. We don't hold back extra tickets in any of the offices so ask fellow graduates if they can spare any extras.

Seniors: You must pay senior fees to participate in upcoming Senior Activities: Baccalaureate, senior brunch, etc. Pay $20 in Activities at snack or lunch.

Colleges/universities normally request a "final" transcript from students who are entering in the fall. Order your transcript now in the counseling office. You will need (1) completed form, (2) $2.00 for each transcript requested, and (3) provide a stamped legal size envelope addressed to the school of choice. DO NOT put your return address on the envelope. We will put THS's address at the return address.

Seniors please remember that you must let colleges/universities know if you are expecting to earn a grade below a C in any of the classes you entered on your self-reported classes planned or in-progress on your college application. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of your admission to your campus. Questions? Contact the campus. Some schools/majors expect you to show up with a "similar" GPA as the one you were admitted with. Senior grades do count!

Payroll warrants/direct deposit advices (checks & pay stubs) for employees paid on the 5th of the month will be available on Thurs., 7/3 from the Payroll Dept. from 11 am to 4:30 pm. If you are paid on the 10th of the month payroll warrants/direct deposit advices will be issued on 7/10 from the Payroll Dept from 11 am to 4:30 pm. You will need picture ID to pick up. If you would like it mailed please provide a self-addressed stamped envelope with your job title and location noted on the bottom left corner by Friday, June 27th to Payroll.

All Faculty: You may begin entering your final grades on Mon., 6/9. It would be greatly appreciated if you could enter your grades by 12 noon on Friday, 6/20. However, if you are unable to do so, the absolute deadline is 12 noon, Mon., 6/23. If you have any questions, please call Joan at X7978.

Please be aware of your classes: Quarter class grades MUST be in the "Q4/A, Q4/C" columns. Semester class grades MUST be in the "S2/A, S2/C" columns.

Teachers: Please bring your classes down to the Library when your students no longer need their books. No appointment necessary.

To all Faculty and Staff: Please claim your articles in the refrigerators or eat them up before by 12:30, Thurs., June 19 th. The refrigerators will be cleared of any unclaimed articles and will be cleaned for the 2008/2009 school year.
